In March, t he official account of The Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games tweeted, “The Olympic Games #Tokyo2020 will be held from 23 July until 8 August 2021.” Moreover, as per the official Olympics website, the Tokyo 2020 games will take place next year after they were rescheduled due to COVID19. The Olympic Games #Tokyo2020 will be held from 23 July until 8 August 2021. This video was earlier fact-checked by American fact-checking website Snopes on August 18. The truth is the video was first uploaded in 2015, has nothing to do with the Olympics, and isn’t even real fireworks. Thus the viral video doesn’t show fireworks at all. The display was created using FWsim, a computer simulation programme (you’ll notice the fireworks create no smoke in the sky), and was pretending to commemorate Mount Fuji’s World Cultural Heritage registration in 2013. It’s a simulation created using computer software.
